Where to Sell your Websites & Designs

Whether you are looking at just making a little extra cash on the side or what to be come a full-time freelance designer, these sites are a great place to start.

I’ve been selling designs & themes online for around 8 years and there are more and more marketplaces coming online each year.  Something they all have in common is a fee or percentage of commission, because hey they need to make money too. So keep that in mind when pricing your items.

Digital Goods Marketplaces for designers

Theme Forest is part of the Envato Market and is home to thousands of talented designers, developers and creators, who sell a wide range of digital goods. Sell PSDs, WordPress themes, HTML, Email Templates, E-Commerce Themes, and more.

My Experience:

Themeforest has been my MarketPlace of choice over the past 8 years, although it is getting tougher to make a sale because of the amount of Authors on there. They do have massive traffic, so if your work is excellent and you can stand out from the crowd, you can still make money through ThemeForest.

Also part of the Envato Market, sell logos, icons, fonts, Photoshop actions, powerpoint templates, print & vector work and all things graphics.

My Experience:

I haven’t sold my items through the Graphic River site, as my were more web based.  Works the same as themeforest.

Creative Market is a platform to get your products in front of over 2 million members wherever they are. Sell photos, graphics, templates, fonts, 3d, plugins and pretty much anything.

My Experience:

Really quick to get approved and setup, I get lots of interest and “likes” on my items. Easy to use. I love that my items can be created and up for sale on the same day. I have made sales on this website.

The Hungry JPEG is a network of free & premium design resources. Sell application addons, crafts, fonts, graphics, photos, templates and themes.

My Experience:

Really quick to get approved and setup, this site seems really active on social media, promoting its sellers. I’ve made sales on this website.

Revolge is the marketplace where you can sell your digital products online. Whatever you create, you can sell it here on Revolge and start earning directly. You can sell music, apps, videos, software, e-books or any digital item you can think of!

My Experience:

Really quick to get approved and setup, a growing website.

ThemeSnap provides premium Drupal themes and a marketplace for author to sell their custom WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, and other themes and templates. We also provide the ability for authors to provide customization for their products and set their own prices for the products they sell in the marketplace.

My Experience:

Really quick to get approved and setup, a growing website.

There are some great advantages of listing your products on MOJO Marketplace! Over three years ago, MOJO was acquired by Endurance International Group, who own some of the webs leading hosting brands such as: HostGator, Bluehost, Domain.com, Fatcow and iPage, just to name a few. With that said, MOJO Marketplace is the product platform and one-click installer (we install about 30,000+ WordPress sites a week!) for these brands.

My Experience:

Going to try this one next.

Etsy is an interesting one, you don’t automatically think digital products, but there are heaps on there. Especially design templates for invitations & stationary.

My Experience:

Really quick to get started, I’ll be exploring this option more in the future.

Another out-side-the-box idea is selling your items on ebay. I think selling items people can use for special events would be successful, like childrens party invitations, wedding stationary, photo album pages etc.

My Experience:

I already knew how to use ebay so that was helpful.  I couldn’t find a way to Automatically send the digital file after purchase, so this is still a manual process.

Summary

There you go, a whole bunch of sites I”m personally selling digital items on. So start uploading your files, and making sales, it doesn’t matter how small or simple your project is, someone may need it. Happy Selling!
